When you feel good, you perform good.

But when work is piled up on your desk…

A deal goes sideways…

Or you don’t know where your next client is coming from…

…It can be difficult to feel good.

So on today’s #TomFerryShow, I’m digging in to how you can actually CREATE a good attitude.

And this isn’t just about “fake it ‘til you make it.”

It’s about genuinely making yourself feel good so you can perform at your best.

And it’s achievable in three easy steps.

Let’s go!

Step 1: Pump Yourself Up with Positive Self Talk

When you have the right self-talk, you can pump yourself up.

Do it enough and it will actually change your emotional state.

This is where affirmations and mantras can play an important role in having the energy to perform your role well.

Another important aspect of this is recognizing when your head is filled with destructive thoughts that are bringing you down. The more you can identify that and control that negative self-talk, the better off you’ll be.

So what affirmations work well for you? If you can’t think of any, make that a homework assignment to find something that resonates with you and gets you pumped up.

Step 2: Where’s Your Focus?

I learned early in life from one of my mentors that by simply asking yourself the right questions, you can lead yourself to a positive mental state.

Questions like:

  • What do I love about my job?
  • What do I love about the people I help on a daily basis?
  • What do I love about my colleagues I work with?
  • What am I grateful for?
  • Who do I love?
  • Who loves me?

That’s why every powerful morning routine should include time dedicated to your gratitudes… not to necessarily repeat the same answers over and over every day, but to continuously explore all the good that’s in your life.

Are you asking yourself the right questions?
