I’m gonna be blunt…

If you’re not doing the seven things I discuss in this blog, you are losing ground to the competition.

Because recently I’ve been talking to lots of top-producing agents, team leaders, and CEOs, and they’re all gearing up to capitalize on the gigantic opportunities this year is likely to bring.

But here’s the good news – it’s not too late to catch up and turn this into your best year ever.

So I assembled this list of seven key activities you should be doing now to maximize your momentum and make this your biggest year yet.

Ready? Let’s go!

Activity No. 1: Plan for Your Best Year Ever – Business Strategy & Budgeting

We’ll start with one that should be a no-brainer

It’s essential that you put your real estate business plan in place now because this business takes time to get to that end result… The things you’re doing today are more likely to impact your bottom line in Q1 than they are before the end of the year. What are your goals? How are you going to become your best self? Plan it.

Activity No. 2: Get Clear on Lead Acquisition

It’s always a good idea to know where your business is going to come from.

The next big question on the minds right now is how do we generate leads that DON’T have a referral fee attached to them?

After all, why give away 25–42% of those hard-earned commission checks when you don’t have to?

So now is the time to figure out how you’ll generate business AND how you’ll improve your conversion. What’s working now that you can double down on for your most successful year yet? What didn’t work and you should leave behind? What new avenues will you explore?

To help you decide, here are the top 10 listing sources used by our coaching members:

  1. Database
  2. Geographic farming
  3. Direct from watching videos/content
  4. Google My Business page
  5. Open Houses
  6. Expireds
  7. Google Local Services ads
  8. Direct from reading reviews on Zillow or Google
  9. Circle dialing around recent sales
  10. Yikes campaign/Just Sold cards

Activity No. 3: Communicate Your Vision for a Career-Defining Year

I’ve been a huge proponent of real estate teams for many years now, so no apologies to those who insist on flying solo. If that’s you, you can probably skip to the next one. Or you can recognize how much more you could accomplish if you delegate tasks and focus on your HaBu (highest and best use of your time).

The end of the year is a perfect time to take a step back and ensure you have a compelling vision for where your business is going. Clarity here sets the tone for your best year ever.

In today’s market, people can make money anywhere. What they really want is to be part of something bigger—and that’s where your vision comes in.

Is your vision crystal clear? Are you living it through your actions? Would your team say the same? Are you showcasing it publicly so other agents know what they’re missing?

When your vision and culture are dialed in, the right people will naturally gravitate toward your orbit. Don’t wait—own your leadership and create your breakout year.

Activity No. 4: Operationalize & Hire to Support Growth

There’s massive opportunity for business growth ahead. To seize it, your internal systems and people must be primed and ready.

  • Do you have the sales team to support your goals?
  • The marketing support to drive visibility?
  • Seamless operations to keep everything on track?

If the answer is no to any of those, now’s the time to act. Building the right infrastructure is key to a sustainable, high-performance year.

Activity No. 5: Elevate Your Personal Brand to Unlock Your Biggest Year Yet

You may have heard me talk about the consumer’s “flight to quality” over the last year or two.

Today’s buyers and sellers are looking for the best. The top 25% of agents control 73% of the business—and the top 50% own 91%!

That tells us one thing: consumers want a hyperlocal expert with a proven track record and community presence.

That’s why personal branding is more important than ever.

A generic profile won’t cut it. You need to stand out. How many videos are you posting each week? How visible are you in your community? Are people thinking of you first?

Find those gaps, answer those questions, and use this as your moment to power up your brand and rise above the noise.

Activity No. 6: Get Ruthlessly Clear on Who You Are

Remember when keynote speaker Seth Godin challenged us to define our smallest viable audience?

To do that, you must have extreme clarity about…

  • Who you are
  • What you offer
  • Your direction and goals
  • Who you’re building your business for

If you’re still trying to appeal to everyone, you’ll end up standing out to no one. Clarity equals momentum—and momentum leads to your best year ever.

Activity No. 7: Dominate with Content to Fuel Your Best Year Ever

Let’s be honest—no one is creating enough content. But those aiming for their best year yet are flipping that script.

The industry leaders know we’re in a video-first, content-driven world. They’re investing in talent to support it—videographers, editors, social media pros.

Have you built your content team? Even a few strategic freelancers can make a huge impact.

Video and social content are the fastest ways to become the go-to expert in your market. Create consistently. Show your face. Share your expertise. The audience (and business) will follow.
