Community Standards & Guidelines

INTRODUCTION

We recognize how important it is for the Tom Ferry Community to be a place where people feel empowered to communicate, and we take seriously our role in keeping abuse off our service. That’s why we’ve developed a set of Community Standards that outline what is and is not allowed in the Community. Our rules and guidelines are based on feedback from our community, our employees, and the advice of our Stakeholders.

The goal of our Community Guidelines is to create a place for our members to freely network, mastermind, and openly exchange industry expertise. This has not and will not change. Building community and bringing our members closer together depends on people’s ability to share diverse views, experiences, ideas and information. We want people to be able to talk openly about the issues that matter to them, even if some may disagree or find them objectionable.

Our commitment to our users to freely exchange thought is paramount; however, we have standards in place to prohibit any content that we deem to be hurtful, hateful, disrespectful or general spam. Content may be removed and additional action taken if post violate one or more of the following Community values:

Authenticity: We want to ensure the content people are seeing in the Community is authentic. We believe that authenticity creates a better environment for sharing, and that’s why we don’t want people using the Community to misrepresent who they are or what they’re doing.

Safety: We are committed to making the Community a safe place. Expression that threatens people has the potential to intimidate, exclude or silence others and will not be tolerated within the Community.

Dignity: We believe that all people are equal in dignity and rights. We expect that people will respect the dignity of others and not harass or degrade others or their opinions.

Our Community Standards apply to everyone, all around the world, and to all types of content. They’re designed to be comprehensive – for example, content that might not be considered hateful may still be removed for violating a different policy. We recognize that words mean different things or affect people differently depending on their local community, language, or background. We work hard to account for these nuances while also applying our policies consistently and fairly to people and their expression. Our enforcement of these standards relies on information available to us. In some cases, this means that we may not detect content and behavior that violates these standards, and in others, enforcement may be limited to circumstances where we have been provided with additional information and context.

People can report potentially violating content, including Pages, Groups, Topics, individual content, and comments.

The consequences for violating our Community Standards vary depending on the severity of the violation and the person’s history on the platform. For instance, we may warn someone for a first violation, but if they continue to violate our policies, we may restrict their ability to post within the Community or disable their access all together.

Our Community Standards are a guide for what is and isn’t allowed in the Community. It is in this spirit that we ask members of the Community to follow these guidelines.

COMMUNITY RULES

No Hate Speech or Bullying. Make sure everyone feels safe. Bullying of any kind isn’t allowed, and degrading comments about things like race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender, or identity will not be tolerated.

Be Kind and Courteous. We’re all in this together to create a welcoming environment. Let’s treat everyone with respect. Healthy debates are natural, but kindness is required.

Respect Everyone’s Privacy. Being part of a group requires mutual trust. Authentic, expressive discussions make groups great, but may also be sensitive and private. What’s shared in the group should stay in the group.

Conversations Related To Groups Topics. Group Members are encouraged to express their opinions openly and honestly without fear of rejection. Off topics (anything not related to this group such as religious and political views) will be removed at the discretion of the admins.

Social Promotions are only allowed within designated Promotional Groups. Posting assets with a request to “like” and “follow” your social pages are not allowed within the designated Coaching Member groups. Posts including links to a listing, profile, or where to view assets will also be removed if not posted within the designated Listing Group, or the like. These rules are in support of ensuring the Groups and the Community content are organized and searchable in a way that best supports the success of our users.

BEST PRACTICES

  • Be courteous to others within the community and post 1-2x a day.
  • Look in the search to see if the question you are searching for has been answered previously before you post.
  • Make sure your profile is completely filled out so that other members of the Community can identify you in Search or tag you in relevant content.
  • Be sure to post questions/content in the correct Groups and tag the content with the relevant Topic(s). This will create a more robust experience for all Community members.
