The biggest killer of massive action is thinking about what actions to take. That’s why you need this 2024 checklist.

10 days. That’s all that’s left in 2023. On the one hand, it’s exciting because we’re stepping into a new year of opportunity. On the other hand, there’s a bit of pressure – because the things you put in place over the next 10 days could determine the course of your entire year. Don’t worry though, there’s still time to complete your 2024 checklist.

Now is the time to think about exactly what actions you’re going to take so that you won’t have to waste energy on a daily basis thinking about what to do next.

In this blog, I’ll give you a 2024 checklist of things you’ll want to complete and get ironed out before the New Year’s ball drops, covering everything from your health and wellness to your goals and business strategies.

Just a note of caution… Even though 2024 is right around the corner and you obviously have a lot to do, don’t rush through this list. These are not tasks you want to simply check off and move on from. The amount of time and effort you put into these things matters. After all, this is your life we’re talking about.

2024 Checklist, Item No. 1: Your Morning & Night Routines

Your ability to perform on a consistent basis is entirely dependent on your routines.

Write that sentence down, put it somewhere you can see it every day – or I don’t know, maybe get a tattoo of it or something.

Keep your energy high, your mindset elevated, and your schedule solid by starting every morning off the right way. And here’s the real trick… A productive morning starts the night before, so your morning and nightly routines need to work in sync together.

Here are some suggestions to incorporate into your routines:

  • Hydrate with salt water or electrolyte powder
  • Exercise (even just taking a walk outside helps)
  • Meditate
  • Journal or gratitude exercises
  • Read something motivating
  • Set your wake-up/wind-down timer
  • Create your checklist

A good morning routine could look like this:

  • 5 a.m.: Wake up, stretch, and hydrate
  • 5:15.: Jogging outside
  • 5:45: Meditate
  • 6:00: 5 minutes of gratitude journaling
  • 6:05: Healthy breakfast

Customize it for your schedule and your needs. Just be sure you know what you’re doing.

2024 Checklist, Item No. 2: Your Business Plan

Your business plan is your complete guide to 2024, your map to guide you through the chaos.

Of course, business plans do change – as they should. Over the next year, you’ll learn new things, new strategies, and you’ll see what’s working best, but it’s critical to have something to start from.

2024 Checklist, Item No. 3: Your Goals

Yes, your goals are a part of your business plan, but there’s a specific way to set goals which I’ve found to be incredibly powerful over the last 30 years.

Write down these eight categories:

  • Physical & Health
  • Family
  • Income & Wealth
  • Career
  • Mindset & Attitude
  • Social & Fun
  • Spiritual
  • Contribution

Then write about half a page covering where your life was in each one of these categories 5 years ago.

Do the same thing for where you are right now. Give a number rating from 1-10 to each category. This will help you to see where you need to focus because your life can’t be sustainable when the areas of it are lopsided.

Next, do the same thing twice more, one year and five years in the future. How do you look, feel, and behave? What’s your schedule like if you did everything right?

2024 Checklist, Item No. 4: Diet & Supplements

Healthy food and the right vitamin supplements for your specific needs are the fuel that keep you going. But while they give you energy, figuring out what you’re going to eat every day can drain a lot of your focus and energy.

My recommendation is to have a rotating meal plan that covers your breakfast/lunch/dinner five days a week. If you can eat the same thing for breakfast every day and lunch every other day, that’s perfect.

Are you going to eat out or cook yourself or a combination of both? Decide this kind of stuff now and put it in your schedule so that you don’t have you pour a lot of mental energy into it when the time comes.

Also, what kinds of vitamins are you taking to make sure you don’t get sick or burned out? Now, I’m not a doctor and please be sure to consult with one before taking anything, but it’s worth looking into some kind of adaptogen to manage stress and a magnesium supplement and B vitamin complex to stay healthy.

2024 Checklist, Item No. 5: How You’ll Relax

You’re going to work your face off in the coming year, but you’re not going to burn out or forget to enjoy your life, right? Right?…

Being able to unwind and replenish your energy during busy times is crucial, and the way you do it makes all the difference. Are you going to unwind with a few drinks and several hours of TV every night? That’s ok sometimes, but don’t make a habit out of it – especially because it’ll get in the way of your night routine.

A better suggestion is to set a time when you turn your phone off every evening and spend quality time with the people you care about or immerse yourself in something you love. Pick up a sport, a good book, or even just go for a walk.

The way you relax with reflect how you feel the next time you jump into work.

Set Aside a Day to Check These Off

These are the types of things that 95% percent of people won’t do, but the 5% of people who do them are the 5% of the most successful people out there.

It’s your choice to be a part of the 95% or the 5%.

Sure, it takes a while to figure all this stuff out and do it right, so set aside several hours in the next 10 days to do them all. I swear it’ll change everything.
