Junior IT Specialist

The Jr. IT Support Specialist position will receive, prioritize, document and work through Jira online support ticketing system. The candidate will work as part of a team to ensure incidents are handled and resolved within the IT Service Level timeframe. The candidate will require an aptitude for working with applications and Windows Server Systems to undertake, analyze, diagnosis and resolve technical incidents in a friendly professional manner. IT Support Specialist will work under the direction of the IT Service Support Supervisor. The role will consist of some specialized individual task and assignments along with specialized team related projects as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Manages and supports Active Directory, printer configuration, and Office 365
  2. Provides on-site, with occasional remote, support for troubleshooting of hardware and software
  3. Provides first-line support of IT related problems
  4. Performs product research to find solutions to issues
  5. Maintains and manages cloud-based endpoint virus protection / repair for the office
  6. Attendance and on-time reporting.
  7. Maintain compliance with company policies, practices and procedures.
  8. Participate in proactive efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  9. Work effectively and communicates clearly with other employees.
  10. Handle changing deadlines and priorities.
  11. Review work for accuracy, completeness and proper authority.
  12. Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent; or one to two years’ experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-2 years of corporate IT or systems helpdesk including desktop and printer support

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Exceptional communications, customer service, and interpersonal skills
  • Motivated, responsible, organized, detail-oriented, quick learner
  • Strong verbal and documentation skills.
  • Experience with supporting both PC and Mac systems
  • Salesforce experience is desired, but not mandatory

Computer Skills

  • Working knowledge of various Operations systems, (Windows 7, 10)
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suites (2010, 2013, 2016)
  • Experience supporting mobile devices like iPad, iPhone, Android, PC-based tablets etc.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as technical procedures, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employee of organizations.

Mathematical Skills

Calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages.

Planning and Organization

  • Ability to juggle and prioritize several tasks and projects at any given time to deliver results and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Possess a sense of urgency and commitment to the timely completion of projects

Physical Demands

This is sedentary work which requires the following physical activities: reaching, sitting, lifting (≤50 pounds), finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity.

Work Environment

Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.

The office work environment is boisterous. Attire is business casual.


Hardly any. May be required to travel overnight – by car or air – to support various events sometimes working in excess of eight (8) hours/day.
